Parent & Toddler Group
This Group is for mothers with young children (not school going) and meets 5 days per week, Monday to Friday from 10.30 to 12.30 at the Resource Centre. Parents must be present at all times that their toddler(s) are on the premises.

Our Parents and Toddler Group runs 5 mornings a week. No booking necessary, the service is run on a drop-in basis. It's a way for the parents to meet other parents and the children learn to play, share and socialise. There's music and arts and lot of time for play with toys. This gives them a good start for when they go to play-school or 'big school'. Many people with young families have moved into the area in recent years. In new communities you have to create networks and opportunities for people to meet; otherwise people can be quite isolated. 
We take a particular active interest in welcoming the many foreign nationals who have moved into our area. Children can fall behind quickly when they go to school if they haven't mixed with other kids and learned basic social skills. We provide those kinds of opportunities through our Centre. And everyone has fun as well!
"The service is open to anyone who wants to avail of it. There is a small charge but we try and ensure that the service is affordable. The parents are involved in running the service along with the staff. That's important. It gives everyone a stake in making this community service work. Funding is also provided through the HSE"
